New York Fashion: What I've Learned

Since my time living here I have discovered a few things about how to dress here in NYC...

1. Don't over think it.
Over-thinking what you should wear can lead to a fashion faux pas. Go with your gut, and take the risk.

2. Have fun with it.
I've learned mixing and matching is defiantly a thing here in New York, but then again so is matchy-matchy (which is trendy right now). Play with colors, patterns and textures. Pair what you normally wouldn't pair and you'd be surprised how chic it can look.

3. Improvise.
Now we all don't have the budget to afford designer/couture fashion, but that doesn't mean we still can't look as good ;) There are some great staple pieces I have found at Forever 21, H&M, Zara and even Salvation Army (whatt whatt!)

Pants I scored at Salvation Army

Zara's Printed Jumpsuit on sale for $19.99!

4. Be yourself.
I mean you can always get inspiration from fashionistas (Leandra Medine, Miroslava Duma and Rooney Mara in my case) But always stay true to your style and your body.
